Q: What is the NYS law requiring my business to have a resuscitation kit for?
A: The NYS State law (Section 300D of the Health Code)requires that all restaurants, bars, health club facilities and theaters maintain a resuscitation kit so that, if needed, CPR can be performed safely by a trained person prior to EMS arriving on scene.

Q: What is needed for this kit?
A: The kit is required to have either 2 pediatric face masks & 2 adult face masks w/ 1 way air valves and 4 sets of gloves or 4 face shields w/1 way air valves instead of the masks.

Q: Is the kit all that is required?
A: No. In addition to the kit a specifically worded sign must be posted for all patrons according to NYS Department of Health guidelines and a sign, again specifically worded, must be on the equipment.

Q: Are the kits that HealthSav sells the kind that are needed by my business?
A: All our kits are in a case suitable for wall mounting.
Contents include 4 face shields w/ 1 way air valves, 4 pair of disposable gloves, red biohazard bag and alcohol wipes.
The equipment meets all the standards for the NYS Health Code ordinance (3000D)which requires all restaurants, bars, health clubs and theaters to have (for public use) CPR kits.

Q: Do my employees need to be trained in the use of this equipment?
A: No. The Health Department requires the equipment be at these locations so that bystanders trained in CPR have access to them. HealthSav© recommends that people be trained in CPR but this is currently not a requirement for your employees from the Health Department.
