Course Descriptions & Rates

**HealthSav® has an R.I.D. Certified Sign Language Interpreter available.
Please let us know well in advance if you would like us to arrange to have these services available for you.
HealthSav® is an American Heart Association Training Center

HealthSav® is an American Heart Association Training Center and will ensure that your training will be the highest quality training available.  Whereas many CPR instructors only teach a couple of course a year to retain their teaching credentials, at HealthSav we teach upwards of 10 courses a week.   We know how to best develop your skills and make you comfortable so that when you leave our course you will be comfortable with being able to assist a person in need.  We maintain a supply of key ring faceshield devices and different styles of pocket masks and they are all available at the classes.  Course rates below include the AHA course manual except for the BLS Recert course.  If a student brings the correct manual with them to the course (BLS & Heartsaver AED)  they can take $15 off of the cost of the course.

Cancellation Policy:  Any cancellation must be given at least 48 hours in advance.  Failure to provide this notice will result in a full charge for the missed course.  Group bookings must be canceled no less than 2 weeks prior to the course date.  As of September 2010 HealthSav takes credit cards (Discover, Visa and MasterCard)..

E Learning  Either the Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider or Heartsaver AED courses are now available as E-Learning courses from the American Heart Association.  Beware of bogus websites that portend to supply you with online certifications.  These will not be accepted in places that require certification.  The AHA E Learning differs in that you are actually taking the course via the American Heart Association website.  HealthSav, as an AHA Training Center, can provide you the key code access to this web site where you learn all the cognitive elements of your CPR course in your own time frame.  That is Part 1 of the process.  Parts 2 & 3 are about a 1-2 hour session with HealthSav where you first practice on a manikin (Part 2) and then test out (Part 3).  The e learning process requires the student to come in for parts 2 & 3 prepared to take the skills test in the allotted time.  Upon completion of the skills session you will be issued your certification.  The BLS course is $75 and Heartsaver AED $85 which includes the key code for Part 1 and the skills session.  The e learning modules will be available to the student for 1 year after the issuance of a certificate.  If a student does fail the practical skills they can go back to the e learning and schedule another skills test session or they can take the conventional course.

BLS Instructor Course  This course is designed to prepare the instructor candidate to be able to teach all AHA BLS courses from Family and Friends through Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider.  All instructor candidates must complete the AHA Core Instructor Courses online prior to our in class BLS Instructor course and must also be current with their own BLS For Healthcare Provider certification.  Upon completion all candidates must affiliate with an AHA Training Center and follow all AHA instructor protocols.  HealthSav will be available to consider instructors for inclusion into its Training Center.  The course includes an instructor kit containing manuals & stopwatch.  The cost of the BLS Instructor course is $250.00

BLS for Healthcare Provider (BLSHCP) classes are $100 and include the AHA course manual and a 2 year certification card.    Group rates are $550 for a class of 6 at your location or ours.   A group of 12 would be $1000 and also includes the course manual and 2 year certification card.  The course can be at your location or ours.  This is a class required for EMS, lifeguards, physical therapists, most nurses & doctors and is the most in depth CPR class offered.  Use of a Bag Mask, advanced airway techniques and concentration on 2 rescuer CPR are some of the additional features of this class along with comprehensive Adult, child and infant CPR, adult, child and infant choking and full hands on practice sessions with an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).  We also have a selection of masks and other CPR safety equipment which students can purchase after the course if they choose to.

BLSHCP Recertifications are $75  for renewing an expiring or expired BLSHCP certification.  You must present your Healthcare provider card or equivalent at the class in order to be able to take this renewal course.  Cards expired for more than 2 months require you to take the full course.

Heartsaver AED classes are $85 and include the AHA course manual and a 2 year certification card.  Upon completion you will be certified in adult, child and infant CPR along with how to handle choking situations for adults, children and infants.  You will also receive full certification for using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  Group rates are $850 for a class of up to 12 people which can be at your location if you prefer.  A class of 6 at your location or ours would be $475.  This class is great for those who want to know all there is to know about CPR, choking and the AED without some of the more technical aspects provided in the Healthcare provider course.   This class is great for those outside of the medical profession or those in the medical profession that do not require the Healthcare Provider level class.  Police, fire, teachers, personal trainers, home care aids and the general lay public are well served with the Heartsaver AED class.
Host a Heartsaver AED group (minimum group size is 6 people) and be the 7th and get your certification for free!  If you have a class for 12 we will include 2 additional people (14) at no extra cost.
We also have a selection of masks and other CPR safety equipment which students can purchase after the course if they choose to.

Family & Friends CPR is $50 and includes the course manual but no written certification is issued.  The course covers adult, child and infant CPR along with how to handle choking situations for adults, children and infants.  AED's will be discussed but not practiced as they are in Heartsaver AED certified courses.  Group rates are $425 for a class of up to 12 people which can be at your location or ours.   No less than 8 people will be booked for a group outside of our facility.  This class will completely enable the student to have full understanding and capabilities of CPR for adult, children and infants as well as how to deal with choking situations for adult, children and infants.  This class is great for those that just want a basic CPR class that does not include the use of a defibrillator.  Young teens involved with babysitting are well suited for this class.  This class will run between 3 and 3.5 hours.   We also have a selection of masks and other CPR safety equipment which students can purchase after the course if they choose to.

Adult CPR for the community minded are $20 include the course manual but no written certification is issued. Group rates are $300 for up to 20 people.  This class will enable the student to have complete knowledge of adult CPR.  Brief overviews will be given on CPR for children as well as synopsis on personal safety, AED's and adult choking situations.  For those with little time or those living in adult communities.  This adult class will completely train you for how to deal with Adult CPR.  This class will be between 1 and 1.5 hours.
